Merry Christmas!
just wanted to wish everyone a very Merry CHRISTmas . I normally have my cards addressed by Thanksgiving but I didn't and then I had the accident with my eye and it was impossible to get them out. Thanks for all of your cards. For those who didn't hear about my eye here is what happened. I was on the 4-wheeler getting all our deer blinds down and on the last trip a tree branch flipped around and left me with a very bad abrasion to my right eye.It tore a big area of outer skin off the top half of my eyeball and left one large piece and several small specks of wood embedded. They removed the wood fragments. I was started on an antibiotic ointment 4x daily and a dilation drop 2x daily. The next day it was 80% re-attached but the 3rd day it came back apart and again the 4th day. I was put on the couch for 4 days and my eye taped shut. Not allowed to watch TV or be on the computer. The pain was horrific. I was on the ointment for 7 days and my eye was dilated for 10 days. I was also on steriod drops. It finally stayed together but left fluid filled pits so now i continue to be on steriod drops a few more days but am on a sodium chloride oinment at bedtime for 3 months. It can come back apartfor up to 2 years. I am over the headache, nausea and dizziness finally. BUT--I thank God that I was spared loosing my eye. The vision is improving daily. Say a prayer that it stays attached. Love all of you and once again Merry Christmas.

It's been a while...

Brooke informed me yesterday that I hadn't posted in 2 months so here goes. Have been busy in every aspect of my life. Kaleb and Ethan finally finished their Midget League Football season.Yea!! We have been extremely busy with the business. The guys took off 12 days and went on their annual elk trip to Colorado. They had a great time and came back with 3 elk. Everything went good except Jay's flight which would take too long to explain. The only thing I can say is to try and imagine Jay in a PT Cruiser hauling butt 80MPH trying to catch a connecting flight at Denver. HA!His flight at Colorado Springs was cancelled. Kaylie is now almost 11 weeks old. Growing up way too fast. Been trying to get my big buck with my bow but no luck yet. Been passing on a perfect 10 pt in hope of getting 1 of 3 bigger ones but he is looking better every day.I did get a doe at the begining of bow season. If none of the grandkids get the 10 during youth season next weekend he may just be mine. Other then that all is well here on the ranch!!Probably won't hear from me until after gun season. To all you hunters ----GOOD LUCK!!!!and be safe.Pics are of the Crisenbery Electric gang, Kaylie at 9 weeks,Kaleb and Bob, Kaylies 1st Halloween, and Ethan.

For all you hunters like me!
Thought I would post some pics of my better bucks I have gotten on camera this year. I put my 3 cameras out the 3rd week of July. I average 175 pics a night and have gotten as many as 384 on 1 camera. The pic of the smaller perfect 10 pt is about 15 feet from my back door.He was there at 6PM tonight. They are still in velvet. These are just a few of 1000's of pictures. Our bow season comes in on Sept. 26 and I can't wait. I jump on the 4-wheeler at 6:45 every morning and go check my camera's. Thought this might get you deer hunters fired up. Enjoy!!!

Posted them backwards
I posted everything backwards so scroll down below picsfor my written post. Double click pics for better view.
I'M BACK!!!!!
Bet you all thought I had vanished from the earth? Since the last post I survived VBS the following week, Jay having surgery the next week and some big job weeks after that. I am not and probably never will be caught up. VBS was an experience to say the least. Me, Les, Amy and Brooke along with some other help had the pre school age group. We went from 6PM to9 PM 5 nights. That meant I left at 5PM and got back home anywhere from 9:30 to 10Pm every day. One little boy would start out fairly good each night but about midway he would get a little ornary. One night he knocked a little girl down , was warned to behave and proceeded to do it again. I gave him time-out to calm down. He put his head in his lap, cried and very pathetically said"This is the worse day of my life". The following Wednesday Jay had double hernia surgery at a hospital in Ashland, KY. We go to church with some great surgeons but our local hospital leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to patient care. Kings Daughters Hospital in Ashland is listed as one of the top 100 hospitals in the US and it was an awesome experience. I can't say enough good about it. Jay's surgery was to take about 45 minutes but it took 1-1/2 hours. Had "something" to do with the patient waiting so long to get the left hernia repaired!! Hint Hint Jay! He did great tho and when I got up at 6:30 the next morning he had already been up and fixed his own breakfast. He only took 1 pain pill which he really didn't want to take. He was restricted for 2 weeks as to not lift anything but he is now back at it but watches what and how he does lift. I have been landscaping (again).I overdid it tho and am now wearing a brace on my right arm. I spread out 45 bags of mulch 1 day and the next day when I went to start the weedeater I ripped a muscle/tendon below my elbow. I heard it pop and I was instantly sick. BUT!!! I went ahead and used the weed eater for an hour and then mowed for 3-1/2 hours. Then I came in and iced it and took 2 Alieve. The next morning it didn't feel too bad so when Jay's brother came over to do some dozer work, I had him bring 2 of his boys along and they helped me gather and place rock all day and we also unloaded 1 ton of stone in my walkway in my new landscaping. Well my arm seemed to get worse each day and yesterday was my Saturday to clean our church. Our family DR is 1 who helps me. He called yesterday morn to see what time to meet there and I told him I was in pain. Didn't take him long after examining my arm to tell me and Jay that I was officially on medical leave as far as my arm goes for 2 weeks. I have 2 different braces I rotate using 24/7 except for showering and take 2 Alieve twice daily. I am Ok tho and am pleased with my landscaping altho it needs some final touchups. Other then that we are all doing good. I know I have missed my goal as far as wishing happy b-days and anniversaries but maybe my next post I will catch up. All you deer hunters please note that I have my cameras out and already have bucks in velvet on them. I will post them also later.Enough for now.

Surprise Les!!
While Les was at work yesterday I ,with the awesome help of Rob, Brooke and Ethan managed to get part of her landscaping done. it was a surprise to Les. We were a force to be reckoned with and completed the job in 2 hours flat. I had my plan all in my head before we started. I made 4 stops getting everything, called brooke and told them to get their work clothes on and we all worked well together. I had delivered the creek rocks earlier. We planted 6 Boxwood shrubs, 1 twisting evergreen(can remember the official name)36 red geraniums, 1 flat of red/white swirl petunias and 8 stripe hostas. We spread 17 bags of black mulch, placed the rocks and installed 8 landscaping lights. Les was so pleased with it she said she just wanted to sit out front in a chair and stare at it. She said it would have taken her 2 days to figure out the layout. I said that was my main reason for doing it without her. As soon as they get the new windows on the end of the house we plan to landscape the end. And then I have my vision of how to turn the area outside the back door into a lovely peaceful flower garden with waterfalls , walkways, etc. Their house looks great with the new roof and siding. Thanks Rob, Brooke and Ethan for helping me.

Busy Busy week
I hadn't posted in a while so here goes a bunch at one time. Ethan finished soccer just as Tristin and Kaleb started baseball. I try to go to all the games I can. Paige finished pre school and we all went to her picnic. The guys came from the job site. I went turkey hunting and then headed for the park. Les met us there too. The rains have finally stopped and is supposed to be dry all week. I sure hope so as we have a lot of outside work to do. We are so backed up but so far the clients have been patient. Les, Amy and I need to get busy soon preparing for VBS which is the 3rd week of June. We are in charge of the pre-school class. I am way behind in my office paperwork which is nothing new. Our business is so complicated it would be about impossible to hire someone to do my office work. I not only do the invoicing, etc; but I also figure all the blueprints. It is just hard working all day on the jobsite, coming home tired and then still have invoices, etc for the day plus housework and 5 acres to mow. But we are so thankful for the work and God sure has blessed us over and over with it. Later.
Pre School graduation picnic
Paige graduated from pre-school and they had a picnic for all the families. Me, Jay, Bob, Cory, Les, Amy and Cory's mom all went. The girls had a blast on the all the slides, etc.
Tristin is in T-ball

Tristin started T-ball this year. They don't keep score. It is more of a learning experience. After so many pitches if they can't hit the ball then they hit the ball off the Tee. Tristin has been able to hit it without the Tee. These 4 pics are of him ready to bat , hitting the ball and coming across home plate. it is so cute watching them.
Kaleb is the new catcher

Last year Kaleb pitched a lot but this year they have discovered he is also an awesome catcher. He can throw from the catchers position to 2nd base without getting up. He will still pitch some too. They were supposed to be in a tourney Saturday but about half way into the first game they got rained out. One pic is of Bob helping him get his leg gear on and the other is him catching. His team is sponsored by Crisenbery Electric.
The new Annie Oakley!!

Les decided since Rob works nights that maybe she should learn how to defend herself so she came came down for lessons with her dad on how to shoot a pistol. Talk about scarey!! She actually did pretty good. The bottom pic is of Jay showing her what to do, the middle is of her actually shooting (if you enlarge the pic you can actually see the smoke from the gun)and the top pic is the 3 holes she made in the target. She was hitting a littleto the right of the bullseye but I tell you if she pointed a gun at me I would lay down and play dead. She wants totake the "Permit to carry a concealed weapon" course. I have had my permit for years.

5K Run/Walk today

The hospital hosted a 5K run/walk today and the Crisenbery gang participated. Our youth pastor's wife, Amy, joined us too. Les,my Amy,Cory, friend Amy and Kelsey all planned to run and Brooke and I planned to walk. Amy hadn't been able to run the past few weeks due to an upper respiratory infection so she ran some and walked some. Brooke and I walked and ran some. Les, friend Amy and Kelsey did really good and Les and Kelsey came within 1 person of getting a metal. The rest of us finished about mid pack out of 149 participants. After the race I headed to church and spent a couple hours cleaning it and then back to town where I met up with Jay at a jobsite. We marked out everything in preparation to start roughing it in on Monday. Then I came home and mowed for 4 hours. Have been trying to catch up on some bookwork the past few hours. I have been taking breaks from my office chair in order to not get stiff. As soon as I get things ready for church in the morning I am going to sit in my recliner with the heat/massage cyle on and hopefully stay awake and watch the Nascar race. The pic consists of from left to right-Amy Sisson, Les, Kelsey, me,Brooke Amy and Cory.

So close but not close enough
Guess I am not doing bad for an old women. Was at Bob's house at 5:45 AM, and we were at our hunting spot at 6:07 AM. Had to climb a very steep hill to get there. We had a big bird come within 50 yrds over a null gobbling like crazy but he would not come in any closer. I held my gun up for what seemed like hours. The next thing we saw him walking up the other hill. So then we hiked back down the hill and crawled along a woodline to where another big bird was all fanned out with a hen. I got set up and Bob called him in to where I needed him to come another 30 yrds for a clean shot. Someone up on the hill shot and it spooked him . He turned and went back the other way. This morning Jay and I were up at 4:30 and at 5:45 we were walking back up the same hill in the dark. We took decoys and set them out on top of the same null. Yesterday morning the turkeys were gobbling like crazy but this morning they never once talked. We saw some coming down from another hill so jay kept calling. After a long time we had given up that they had went the other direction. Jay started to stand up and I saw him freeze in position. Then I saw the head of a hen and then a red headed Jake for just a second. I couldn't get a shot so jay shot but missed. So we moved around to another spot(straight up a big hill again) but nothing happened so we came home. As we stepped up on our deck a turkey went around the back of our pond bank which is only 50 yrds from the house. SO no turkey but had a good time sitting in the woods admiring God's great creations. I still have another 3 weeks to get my bird.

EARTHQUAKE!!!!
We had an earthquake this morning. It registered 3.4. It centered a mile or less from Rob and Leslies house. I was sitting in my recliner doing some paperwork at 9:45 when it hit. It felt like something had ran into the house. Quite a weird feeling. About a minute later the phone rang and it was Les asking "did you feel that?" She said their neighbor had stuff fall in his garage. It is so rare for a quake here that the last reported one was in 1926. Nevertheless it shook up people around here. The temperature got up to 87* today. I mowed my 5 acres this afternoon and sure got some rays. There was a nice breeze so it wasn't bad. I am off to bed early tonight as Bobby is going to try and call me in a turkey in the morning. I have to be at his house no later then 6AM and then we are riding together about 1-1/2 mile to where we are hunting. Bob got one there Monday morning. He is an awesome turkey caller. So hopefully tomorrow I will be posting a pic of me with my longbeard. Of course that is wishful thinking.

Bad Hair Day

Following hat day yesterday at Paiges's school, today was bad hair day and Amy got very creative. You all know how much hair Paige has. Amy took it up into several pony tails , teased it and bobbie pinned it into the shape of a birds nest. In the nest she pinned in my artificial bird she borrowed plus 2 Easter eggs. Guess she was the hit of the day. They took her to every class so everyone could see her and took pics. Guess they put the pic on the school computers for their screensavers. Amy said it was an ordeal disassembling the nest after school.
